Montreal Canadiens at Toronto Maple Leafs Hockey Predictions

  Canadiens Trying to Make a Late Run

  If the Montreal Canadiens are to make the playoffs they really can’t afford to lose many more games. They have 28 games left but they are still 10 points out of a playoff spot. The problem for Montreal is that even if they get hot they are competing with nine other teams for probably just two spots. One of those teams they are competing with is Toronto which makes Saturday night’s game huge. Montreal still believes they can make the playoffs so don’t be surprised if they make a trade to improve their team in the next week or so.

  Toronto 16-12 at Home

  The Maple Leafs have been solid at home but not spectacular. Toronto has lost four times in overtime or in a shootout and although the Leafs get a point, bettors who took Toronto got a loss. Toronto is scoring enough goals as they are 6th in the league but their defense and goaltending hasn’t always been good enough. The good news for Toronto is that recently goaltender James Reimer has played much better and he is the big key to the Leafs making the playoffs.

  Canadiens-Leafs Trends

  Toronto has won six of the last ten in the series against Montreal with seven of the last ten going under the total. The teams have split their last ten games in Toronto and every game lately has been low scoring. The last seven games have gone under the total and in the last two meetings they have combined to average just three goals.

  Hockey Predictions

  The side looks really tough to call as Montreal is playing better of late so we’ll stick to the total in hockey predictions.
