    NHL Betting - Anaheim Ducks

Live betting will be available at Diamond Sportsbook on Friday’s NHL game between the Anaheim Ducks and Detroit Red Wings. The game can be seen on the NHL Network and it will be the Red Wings who are heavily favored in NHL betting odds.

    Anaheim 6-17 on the Road

It is almost impossible to make a case for taking Anaheim in this game on Friday night. The Ducks have been sickening on the road this season with just six road victories. Anaheim is not a serious threat to make the playoffs as they are 10 points out of a playoff spot with a number of teams ahead of them. It is not hard to see why the Ducks are struggling as they are well below average on defense and their offense is nothing special. Maybe at home you can sometimes make a case for taking Anaheim but you can’t make much of a case for taking them at Detroit.

Red Wings Almost Unbeatable at Home

The Red Wings went into Wednesday’s home game against Edmonton with a home mark of 20-2-1. Detroit had a big winning streak going in home games before the game against the Oilers. The Red Wings are going to be laying huge money in this game on Friday against the Ducks.

    Howard Still Out

This would be a near guaranteed win for Detroit on Friday night if they had starting goaltender Jimmy Howard. The Wings goalie is still out due to a broken finger. Detroit will likely still win against Anaheim with one of their backup goalies playing but there is always a risk when you lay huge money and a team plays their backup goaltender.

    Game Notes

Detroit has won 7 of the last 10 in this series against Anaheim with seven of the games going under the total. The Red Wings have won 9 of the last 10 at home against Anaheim including the last seven.

Three of the last four have gone under the total. The Red Wings should win on Friday night but we can’t lay 3-1 on Detroit with a backup goalie. We’ll avoid the side and look at the total for our NHL pick. The Red Wings are the 5th highest scoring team in the league and they should score some goals on Friday so we’ll take the game over the total.
