Golf Betting - Waste Management Phoenix Open

Webb Simpson is favored in Waste Management Phoenix Open odds at Diamond Sportsbook for this week’s PGA Tour event. He is listed at 16-1 with last week’s winner, Brandt Snedeker the second choice at 18-1. Those two are favored over big names like Phil Mickelson and Nick Watney.

It should be a great week of weather in Arizona so scoring should be good at the TPC Scottsdale. Here is a look at the contenders this week and a couple of live longshots.

    Webb Simpson 16-1

He finished in a tie for eighth last year in this event. He didn’t play that well in his last event at the Sony Open as he tied for 38th and he almost never plays poorly in two straight tournaments. He is the favorite this week but at 16-1 he has some real value.

    Brandt Snedeker 18-1

He is coming off one of the most unlikely victories in history last week as Kyle Stanley imploded to give him the win. It is so hard to win on the PGA Tour in two straight weeks so Snedeker could be overvalued at 18-1.

    Martin Laird 20-1

He tied for third in this event last year and he has been very consistent this year as he is fifth in the FedEx Cup standings.

    Matt Kuchar 20-1

He tied for 22nd at the Humana Challenge and was never a factor. In his last five starts on the PGA Tour he hasn’t finished better than 20th.

    Nick Watney 22-1

It is hard to make a case for Watney in Waste Management Phoenix Open odds after he played poorly in the last two rounds last week at the Farmers. Maybe he turns things around and plays better but he just doesn’t seem in good enough form to back for the win.

    Phil Mickelson 22-1

He is one of the favorites in name only. He has been awful so far this season and didn’t even make the cut last week at the Farmers. It is never out of the question for Phil to suddenly turn it on and win but we can’t take him based on his rotten play so far this season.

    Longshot – Mark Wilson 30-1

He is the defending champion of this event and he already has a win this year. He should be in contention again on Sunday.
