With the PGA Tour season in the books it is time to focus on events in other parts of the world. This week it will be the CIMB Asia Pacific Classic in Malaysia with Ben Crane and Brandt Snedeker the favorites in golf betting odds at the online sportsbook. Here is a look at their chances and other contenders who could win.
There are going to be some low scores this week in Malaysia as last year only one golfer in the entire field was over par for the tournament. Ben Crane won this event last year taking a one-shot win over Brian Davis. The temperatures this week will be in the 90’s so it may be a matter of endurance to decide the winner.
Ben Crane 14-1
He is the defending champ and is playing for the first time since his great effort in the final round of the McGladrey Classic. There is actually a little bit of value in taking Crane at these golf odds.
Brandt Snedeker 14-1
He is the top ranked player in the field and with seven top 10 finishes this season and he should be right in the mix this week.
Camilo Villegas 16-1
He is finally starting to play well with solid finishes at the Deutsche Bank and BMW tournaments. He has three top ten finishes in his last four starts and the heat should not bother him at all.
Longshots
There is a laundry list of longshots to consider this week in golf betting odds including Bo Van Pelt who is 10th in all-around on the PGA Tour. He is listed at 22-1 and a win this week would not be a surprise. Jason Dufner is another interesting choice at 25-1. He has seven finishes in the Top 15 including a tie for 13th in the Tour Championship. The player that should want to make up for last year is Carl Pettersson. He was in second place last year starting the final round and then blew up and shot a 73 to tie for 15th. He is listed at 20-1 and should be in contention to get the win. We always have to throw a big longshot in there and this week it is Angel Cabrera at 40-1. He tied for sixth at the McGladrey Classic and could be in good enough form to contend this week.
