If any of the top five players in the FedExCup standings wins this week they will win the FedExCup. Technically anyone in the field can still win the title if things fall just right and that was proven last year as Jim Furyk who was 11th in the standings ended up winning the Tour Championship and the FedExCup. While it is possible for anyone to win there are some definite favorites.
Luke Donald 6-1
He is ranked #1 in the world and is the most consistent player of anyone in the field. He has more top ten finishes than any other player and has nine of his last eleven rounds in the 60’s. He finished second in this event last year and he is a deserving favorite at sports betting odds of 6-1.
Webb Simpson 12-1
He really didn’t play that great last week but he still has a total of 10 finishes in the top 10 this year including two wins. He is the second choice in the betting at 12-1.
Adam Scott 14-1
He won in 2006 but has not finished in the top 25 in his last two appearances in this event. He has three top ten finishes in three of his last five starts. He is the third choice in sports betting at 14-1.
Nick Watney 16-1
He finished in a tie for fourth in this tournament a year ago. He led the field last year in greens hit which is critical on this course.
Dustin Johnson 16-1
He is second in the FedExCup standings and if he plays well he has as much talent as anyone on Tour. Is this the tournament where he finally gets the monkey off his back and wins a huge title?
Jason Day 16-1
If you are looking for someone down the list a little bit to jump up and win the FedExCup then perhaps it is Day. He is 10th in the standings but he sure does have the game to win. He leads the Tour in par-3 scoring.
Justin Rose 18-1
Last week’s winner vaulted all the way into third in the standings and he is now a threat to win the title. He led the field in birdies and if momentum means anything he definitely has a shot to win in back-to-back weeks.
Matt Kuchar 18-1
He always seems to be on the leaderboard but he doesn’t win that often which makes him a risky pick.
