    Golf Betting - BMW Championship

The third event of the FedExCup playoffs starts on Thursday as 70 players tee it up for the BMW Championship. Only 30 of those players will make it into next week’s Tour Championship. BWM Championship betting odds are on the board at BetDSI sportsbook with Luke Donald listed as the favorite.

This week’s BMW Championship will be played on the Dubsdread Course at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club in Lemont, Illinois. It is a course where hitting greens in regulation is critical as playing from the rough can be difficult.

    Favorites

Luke Donald is the top choice in golf odds at 10-1 and that makes sense considering he is the #1 ranked golfer in the world. Donald has finished in the Top 10 in three of his last four starts. Adam Scott is the second choice at 14-1 and he is seemingly in contention every week. Dustin Johnson is the third choice at 16-1 along with Steve Stricker and looking at the numbers both of those players could probably be favored. Johnson led the field two weeks ago at the Deutsche Bank in fairways hit and in distance and somehow tied for 42nd. He is also the defending champion of this event. Jason Day, Matt Kuchar and Webb Simpson are each 18-1. Jim Furyk and Phil Mickelson are 22-1 while Nick Watney is 25-1 and Brandt Snedeker is 28-1.

    Longshots

It is hard to say anyone is really a big longshot on the PGA Tour this season as anyone can win. We’ll go with anyone listed at more than 30-1 as a longshot in BMW Championship betting. Sergio Garcia has not proven he can win so he is not worth a bet while both Charl Schwartzel and Camilo Villegas haven’t shown much lately either. Gary Woodland hasn’t won since early in the year so he is not a good longshot. Three players listed at 40-1 do have some value this week. Hunter Mahan has been playing well and always seems to be on the leaderboard in the final round. Rickie Fowler has been up and down but he definitely has the talent to win and Bubba Watson has a ton of value at 40-1.
