Alfred Dunhill Championship Odds and Preview

Although no big names will be getting the headlines this week at the Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa, the tournament should be extremely competitive. There are a total of 12 players in Alfred Dunhill Championship odds at Diamond Sportsbook who are listed at 20-1 or less.

George Coetzee is a very slight favorite with odds of 11-1. He is followed closely by Thomas Aiken at 11.5-1, Robert Rock at 12-1 and Jaco Van Zyl at 12.5-1. Hennie Otto is 13-1, James Kruger is 13.5-1, James Kingston is 14.5-1, Pablo Martin is 15-1, Tommy Fleetwood is 16.5-1, Lee Slattery is 17.5-1, Graeme Storm is 18.5-1 while Darren Fichardt is 20-1 in golf betting odds.

    Martin Trying for Three

Pablo Martin will be trying to win the Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek Country Club in Malelane for the third straight year. He beat Charl Schwartzel, Thorbjorn Oleson and Anthony Michael by two shots last year. "I don't know what it is about the place," Martin said, "If I knew what it was that makes me win here I would do it every week but it is the place that I just go to and become totally relaxed."

There are four tournaments left in the 2011 Race to Dubai so this event will be important for some players near the top 60. The field this week is really weak with many players ranked outside the Top 100 in the world rankings.

    Contenders

One player to watch this week is Tommy Fleetwood who topped the Challenge tour rankings. His Alfred Dunhill Championship odds of 16.5-1 are appealing. Another player to watch is Thomas Aiken who is 19th in the Race to Dubai standings. He probably should be the favorite this week instead of Coetzee. He had two finishes in the top five in the recent stops in Spain. He has won almost a million dollars this year on the European Tour. He finished fifth last year and fourth three years ago. He is looking for his first European Tour win and this could be the week. Also keep an eye on Robert Rock who has finished in the Top 20 in all five of his previous starts at Leopard Creek.
