San Francisco 49ers vs Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons host the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game on Sunday. Let’s look at the NFL line at Diamond sportsbook and NFL playoff picks.

    Quick 49ers vs Falcons Stats

    San Francisco 49ers 12-4-1 SU, 10-7 ATS, 10-6-1 Over/Under

The 49ers are coming off an impressive win last week as they outscored Green Bay 45-31. It was a coming out party for quarterback Colin Kaepernick who had the best rushing game for a quarterback in NFL history. The 49ers have a good offense that is 11th in the league in points per game and an excellent defense that was second in the league in fewest points allowed.

    Atlanta Falcons 14-3 SU, 9-7-1 ATS, 6-11 Over/Under

The Falcons are coming off a win last week against Seattle that they nearly gave away. Atlanta blew a 20 point lead but got a last second field goal to beat the Seahawks 30-28. Atlanta actually has better overall numbers than the 49ers as they are 7th in the NFL in points per game and 5th in fewest points against.

The 49ers are in good shape on the injury front especially since tackle Joe Staley is now listed as probable. The Falcons also are pretty healthy and they are listing defensive end John Abraham as probable.

    49ers vs Falcons Odds

The 49ers are a 4-point favorite at Diamond sportsbook with the total listed at 48.5. San Francisco is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games in January and they are playing really well of late having gone 24-11-1 ATS in their last 36 games overall. The Falcons won last week against Seattle but they did not cover the spread which means they are now 0-5 ATS in their last 5 playoff games. The 49ers have now gone over the total in their last five games and Atlanta has gone over in their last four playoff home games.

49ers vs Falcons NFL Playoff Picks

The public is all over the 49ers in this game as the line is up to four in favor of the 49ers. I think it is a bit of an overreaction to last week’s results so I am going to take the points with the Falcons on Sunday.
