    NFL Football Betting

Next season there will be a total of seven new head coaches in the NFL. The Chiefs, Buccaneers, Dolphins, Rams, Jaguars, Colts and Raiders made changes that could impact their NFL betting odds next season. Let’s grade each of the new head coaches and see which teams made good moves.

St. Louis Rams – Jeff Fisher

The Rams made a great hire getting Jeff Fisher as he was the top name out there. He is a proven winner and he will turn the Rams into winners. In his 16 seasons his teams have been at or above .500 in 11 of those years. He took the Titans to the Super Bowl and although the Rams are not Super Bowl contenders they will improve immediately against the NFL betting odds at the online sportsbook under Fisher.

    Oakland Raiders – Dennis Allen

The Raiders hired the Denver Broncos defensive coordinator as their new head coach. He will be the youngest head coach in the NFL but he is exactly what the Raiders need. He will improve the defense in Oakland and historically, defense wins with the Raiders. He is the first defensive head coach for the Raiders since John Madden.

    Miami Dolphins – Joe Philbin

The Dolphins were not very good on offense in recent seasons but that should change with Philbin who was the offensive coordinator in Green Bay. If he can convince Matt Flynn to sign with the Dolphins then Miami could be an instant playoff contender next season.

    The Rest

The other four teams that hired new head coaches did not impress us. Tampa Bay hired Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano to be their new head man. Although Jim Harbaugh worked out in San Francisco, rarely do the college head coaches have success in the NFL. The Kansas City Chiefs went with Romeo Crennel as their head man. Crennel is a good defensive coordinator but he had his chance in Cleveland as a head coach and was a bust. The Colts hired Baltimore defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano as their head man. The Colts organization is a mess and Pagano isn’t going to win with Irsay as the owner and Grigson as the GM. Jacksonville went with retread Mike Mularkey as their head coach.
