The first two props for the Super Bowl are on the coin toss with the normal heads-tails and whether the AFC or NFC wins the toss.
Total Points
This year’s Super Bowl should be a high scoring game. Forget about what happened four years ago. These two teams are much different and neither defense is as good and both offenses are better. This game is going to be played indoors at Indianapolis and it should be a track meet. The total points number for the Giants is 26.5 while the Patriots total points number is 29.5. If you go over on both of those numbers the worst you should do is split while you have a good chance to sweep.
There are other normal props that are more of a toss-up like who will score first. The Patriots are a slight -130 favorite on this prop. The team to score last is pretty much a pick. You also have the prop on whether or not the first team to score wins the game. Yes is the -160 favorite. You can also bet on whether there will be a score in the first five minutes of the game with the Yes at -130. You can bet on whether there will be a score in the last two minutes of the first half with the Yes at -320. Another prop is whether either team will score three straight times with the Yes at -200.
First Score of the Game
A prop that you always see is what will be the first score of the game. The TD is -175 but that number should go up. New England is a team that doesn’t settle for field goals that often and the Giants are also a team that scores a lot of touchdowns. There is value on this prop at -175 for the TD.
If you think there will be a successful 2-point conversion you can get +350 on the Yes. You can get +145 if you think there will be a special teams or defensive touchdown in the game. Other props include the team to score last in the first half, the team to score more field goals, total quarterback sacks by both teams and total field goals in the game.
