College Football Betting - Insight Bowl

Insight Bowl odds heavily favor 14th-ranked Oklahoma as they play Iowa on Friday night. This game can be seen on ESPN and will feature live betting at BetDSI Sportsbook.

    Sooners -13.5, total 57.5

There isn’t much doubt that Oklahoma is a better team than Iowa but how motivated the Sooners will be to play the Insight Bowl is a serious question. This is an Oklahoma team that was supposed to challenge for a national title this season but it didn’t happen as Oklahoma lost three games during the season including an ugly finale against Oklahoma State where they were blown out 44-10. "Obviously the season didn't go the way we planned," center Ben Habern said. "Our goals every season are to win a Big 12 championship and a national championship. For those goals not to be met, it's obviously frustrating. We have to take ownership of what happened."

Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones came into this season as a Heisman Trophy candidate but he ends the year as a player who may need to come back next year to improve his NFL Draft position. Jones turned the ball over too many times this season, throwing 14 interceptions. It didn’t help that Jones lost his top target, wide receiver Ryan Broyles to a season-ending injury. The Sooners have gone 1-2 since Broyles was injured.

This would seem to be a good spot to take Iowa in Insight Bowl odds against a subpar Oklahoma team but it is hard to make a case for an Iowa team that lost three of their last five games. "Like last year, we are facing a heck of a challenge," said Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz. The challenge for Iowa is even tougher as leading rusher Marcus Coker is out for this game due to suspension. Iowa will have to hope for a big game from quarterback James Vandenberg who threw for 23 touchdowns this season.
