    Hawaii Bowl Betting Odds

You can watch some college football on Christmas Eve as Nevada takes on No. 21 Southern Mississippi in the Hawaii Bowl. The game can be seen on ESPN and will feature live betting at Diamond Sportsbook. Hawaii Bowl betting odds have Southern Miss favored by 6.5 points.

    Southern Mississippi -6.5, total 62

It should be a high scoring shootout on Saturday night between Nevada and Southern Miss. The Wolf Pack are 5th in the country in total yards while Southern Miss is 13th. Southern Miss is led by quarterback Austin Davis who has thrown for more yards in his career than Brett Favre did. Davis has 10,727 yards passing and 81 touchdown passes. This season, Davis threw for 28 touchdown passes and 3,331 yards. Southern Miss will be playing their last game for head coach Larry Fedora who was hired at North Carolina but Fedora said he wanted to coach Southern Miss in the bowl game. "We want to see this thing through," Fedora said. "We want to finish this thing. This could be the only team in 100 years of football that wins 12 games. We want to get that 12th win." Nevada was just 7-5 this season but they have the ability to stay with Southern Miss if their defense plays well. Nevada was second in the WAC in passing defense this season. Nevada is also expected to get a boost as WAC freshman of the year Cody Fajardo is expected to return as the starting quarterback. He was hurt in their loss to Utah State but he seems to be a full strength for the bowl game. He threw for six TDs this season and ran for 11 more.

    Game Notes

This will be the third time that Nevada will be playing in the Hawaii Bowl. They beat Central Florida in 2005 but lost to SMU in 2009 Hawaii Bowl betting odds. Southern Miss has won both of the previous two matchups against Nevada. The Wolf Pack are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 non-conference games. The Wolf Pack are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as an underdog. The Wolf Pack are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 bowl games. The Golden Eagles are 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall.
