College Football Betting - FCS Championship

Before we get to the main title game in college football on Monday we have the FCS Championship game on Saturday between Sam Houston State and North Dakota State. The game can be seen on ESPN 2 with North Dakota State a slight favorite in FCS Championship betting.

    Live Football Betting

One of the draws for this game on Saturday is that it will be on ESPN 2 and feature live betting at Diamond Sportsbook. It should be an excellent matchup of two very evenly matched teams and that means exciting live betting.

    Defensive Struggle Expected

Defense wins championships as has been proven through the years and that is the case this season in college football. Monday night’s BCS title game features two great defenses in LSU and Alabama and Saturday’s FCS Championship features two excellent defenses as well. North Dakota State was first in the FCS in scoring defense this season as they allowed just 13.2 points per game. Sam Houston State was second in the country at 14.8 points allowed per game. "Both defenses are extremely explosive," said North Dakota State coach Craig Bohl, "They've been excellent at creating takeaways and I really think the balance of the game will be the turnover margin."

Sam Houston is unbeaten on the season and ranked #1 while North Dakota is the #2 team in the FCS and they have one loss on the season. North Dakota has looked better in the playoffs which is one reason they are slight favorites in FCS Championship betting at the sportsbook. North Dakota has won their three playoff games by a combined 85-21.

    Game Notes

This will be the first FCS title game for each school. Sam Houston State made the semifinals in 2004 but couldn’t make the title game while North Dakota State reached the quarterfinals last year for their best showing.

"Obviously it's going to be a high-stakes game playing for the national championship," said Sam Houston coach Willie Fritz. "But I don't think it's going to be any different just because it's the first time for both squads."
