College Football Betting - Cotton Bowl

We should get another high scoring bowl game on Friday night as Kansas State takes on Arkansas in the Cotton Bowl. It is a matchup of Top 10 teams with Kansas State ranked #8 while Arkansas is ranked #6. Arkansas is an 8-point favorite with the total listed at 62.5 on the Cotton Bowl point spread.

Friday’s Cotton Bowl will be shown on Fox television and it will feature live betting at BetDSI Sportsbook.

The matchup on Friday is worthy of a BCS game but actually the Cotton Bowl is not a BCS bowl game. It could be better than some of the other BCS games we have seen though as there is no question that Kansas State and Arkansas are better than teams like West Virginia and Clemson. The Razorbacks finished 6th in the BCS bowl rankings with their only two losses this season coming to Alabama and LSU. Kansas State is 8th in the BCS rankings and their only losses were to Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. The BCS system really screwed over both Arkansas and Kansas State as Arkansas was left out due to a stupid rule that prohibits more than three teams from a conference in BCS bowl games. Kansas State was snubbed in favor of Michigan and Virginia Tech.

Arkansas could be at a disadvantage in this game on Friday as three of their coaches are now elsewhere. Offensive coordinator Garrick McGee was hired at UAB, special teams coach John L. Smith was hired by Weber State and defensive coordinator Willy Robinson resigned. Head coach Bobby Petrino is still confident his team will be fine for Friday. "We've got a mature team, and that helps a lot," Bobby Petrino said. "I put more on the players. I put more on the seniors that, 'You've got to make sure we're ready in the meetings, make sure we get to practice right.'"

The Razorbacks are led by quarterback Tyler Wilson who threw for 3,422 passing yards while Kansas State is led by quarterback Collin Klein who threw for 1,745 yards and rushed for 1,099 yards.

    Game Notes

Arkansas is just 12-23-3 all-time in their bowl games while Kansas State is 6-8. Arkansas is 3-7-1 in the Cotton Bowl, while the Kansas State is 1-1. The Wildcats are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games as an underdog. The Wildcats are 8-20 ATS in their last 28 non-conference games. The Razorbacks are 12-3 ATS in their last 15 games as a favorite. Looking at the total, the Over is 16-5 in the Wildcats last 21 games overall. The Over is 4-0 in the Razorbacks last 4 games as a favorite.
