After the Alabama Crimson Tide routed LSU by a score of 21-0 in college football betting in the BCS title game there was no doubt which team was the best in the country. Alabama finished first in the final Associated Press Poll and first in the final USA Today Coaches’ Poll.

    Alabama 21-0 vs. LSU

The Alabama Crimson Tide so dominated LSU in the BCS title game that they made the Tigers look like an inferior team. Alabama completely throttled the LSU offense and Alabama’s offense was good enough to get five field goals and a touchdown. The shutout was the first in the 14-year history of the BCS. The national title was Alabama’s second in the past three years.

Alabama’s defense was so good that LSU didn’t even cross midfield until midway through the fourth quarter. LSU finished the game with a total of 92 yards of offense. LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson was horrible but head coach Les Miles stubbornly refused to take him out of the game and LSU had no offense with Jefferson at the helm.

    Final Rankings

Alabama received 55 first-place votes in the final AP poll. There were five voters who have no clue how to vote as one gave LSU a first place vote while four voted Oklahoma State #1. Oregon finished fourth in the voting while Arkansas was fifth. The SEC finished with three of the top five teams in the nation. The victory for Alabama head coach Nick Saban means that Saban has now won three national titles, two with Alabama and one with LSU. Rounding out the top ten in the final college football rankings in the AP poll were USC in sixth, Stanford in seventh, Boise State in eighth, South Carolina in 9th and Wisconsin in 10th. The rest of the Top 25 were Michigan State in 11th followed by Michigan, Baylor, Kansas State, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Houston, Georgia, Southern Mississippi, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Florida State, Nebraska and Cincinnati.
