CFL action for this week wraps up on Monday with two games as Montreal visits Hamilton while Edmonton is in Calgary. Both games have early start times so keep that in mind as you make your CFL picks at BetDSI Sportsbook. Let’s look at both of these contests.

    Montreal -3, total 55.5

This is the first half of a home and home between these two East Division rivals. The Alouettes are just a game in front of the Tiger-Cats for second place so this is a huge game. Both teams are coming off tough road losses as Montreal was beaten at Calgary while Hamilton lost at Winnipeg. Montreal’s offense was fine as quarterback Anthony Calvillo threw for 369 yards and three touchdowns. The defense was poor though and it didn’t help that cornerback Mark Estelle suffered a knee injury that will keep him out for at least the next two months.

This is the ninth time that Hamilton and Montreal will be playing on Labour Day. It has been all Tiger-Cats when these two teams meet on Labour Day as they have won 7 of the 8 games. Looking at the total, the Over is 5-0 in the Alouettes last 5 road games but the Under in CFL betting is 11-3 in the Tiger-Cats last 14 home games. In this series, the Under is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings in Hamilton.

    Calgary -8.5, total 48

The Edmonton Eskimos started the season so well at 5-0 but the wheels have come off as the team has lost three straight. They have scored a combined four points in the last two games. It won’t get any easier for the Eskimos as they play a Calgary team that has won four in a row. Calgary quarterback Henry Burris threw for 422 yards last week and was named CFL Offensive Player of the Week.

Earlier this season the Eskimos won 24-19 but that seems like a long time ago considering how Edmonton is now playing. The Eskimos are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 meetings in Calgary. This is the first of a quick home and home series and there is no doubt that Calgary is the way to go in CFL picks.
