CFL Odds - Week 18 Preview and Picks

  • Friday, October 28th, 2011

    By  Ken Williams

Toronto Argonauts vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers

The CFL playoffs are just around the corner but there are still two weeks left in the regular season. Week 18 begins on Friday with Toronto visiting Winnipeg. Let’s look at that matchup in CFL odds and the other three games for Week 18.

    Friday, October 28th

Toronto at Winnipeg – Blue Bombers -8, total 48.5

How much incentive will Winnipeg have to win this one on Friday night? The Blue Bombers are going to the playoffs and they have been very good against elite teams but they have struggled in these types of games. It is also worth noting that Toronto has won four of the last six meetings between the two teams.

    Saturday, October 29th

Hamilton at Saskatchewan – Tiger Cats -6.5, total 50

The Tiger-Cats are locked into third in the East but they are still a better team than the Roughriders who will be going with Ryan Dinwiddie at quarterback. Saskatchewan is a mess and it is hard to make any case for taking them even with the points. The one concern in this game is that the Tiger-Cats are 1-9-1 against the Canadian Football League betting odds in their last 11 meetings in Saskatchewan but it is hard to take the Roughriders in any situation.

Edmonton at British Columbia – Lions -4.5, total 49.5

How can you not like the Eskimos getting points? They have won three straight and can clinch a bye with a win at B.C. on Saturday. Ricky Ray is red hot and even if Edmonton doesn’t win, they are getting points in this one and they are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games in October.

    Sunday, October 30th

Calgary at Montreal – Alouettes -4.5, total 56

The Stampeders have benched quarterback Henry Burris so it will be Drew Tate under center. Montreal is simply the better team and this looks like a short price on the Alouettes at home. This might also be a good game to take over the CFL odds total at Diamond Sportsbook. The Over is 12-3-1 in the Stampeders last 16 road games and in this series, the Over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.
