CFL Betting Lines
Montreal Alouettes (OTB)
Hamilton Tiger-Cats (OTB)
Over/Under OTB
You might think that this is the time to go against the Alouettes, right? After all, their injury list is about eight miles long right now, and it includes some names that are not just stars, but superstars.
WR Jamel Richardson was ineffective in his first game back in the lineup since Week 1 last week, and his partner, WR Kerry Watkins hasn't suited up all season long. These two are amongst the best wide outs that the CFL have to offer. The new guys in the bunch, WR Dallas Baker and WR Prechae Rodriguez are potentially going to miss Friday night's tussle on the CFL betting lines against Hamilton as well.
Now, to make matters even worse, QB Anthony Calvillo has blurry vision, and he is going to be up in the air until game time on Friday as well. AC suffered a jarring hit in the first half against the Saskatchewan Roughriders last week, and many could immediately point to that hit and say that it changed the course of the game.
However, we know that backup QB Adrian McPherson could be good enough to start for a ton of other teams in this league, and he is definitely a luxury that cannot be ignored. AD Mac posted some reasonable numbers in the second half of that game, going 12-of-19 for 98 yards through the air with a TD and a pick. He also had 41 rushing yards and two scores on the ground to boot.
It's amazing to think, but even with essentially half of a second team offense out there, the Alouettes nearly beat the two-time defending West Division champs.
Now, this unit is going to have a full week of practice together with McPherson to prep to beat the CFL wagering lines, and if Calvillo isn't ready to play, the offense shouldn't miss a beat.
That's all really bad news for a Hamilton team which is trying to overcome injuries to WRs Arland Bruce, Maurice Mann, and Marquay McDaniel as well.
The Tabbies have had back to back great games against Saskatchewan and the BC Lions, but this is a totally different type of test that will prove to be far too difficult to pass.
CFL Lines Pick - Montreal has only lost one game against Hamilton since October 2008, and that happened to be its last trip to Ivor Wynne Stadium. Don't expect to see the Als fall short in this one even though they could be underdogs when push comes to shove.
