    Oscars Betting

There are big favorites in Oscars betting odds at Diamond sportsbook for the 84th Academy Awards. The awards will be given out on Sunday, February 26th from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, California. Will the big favorites dominate and win the big awards?

    Odds to Win Best Picture

    The Artist -350

    The Descendants +425

    Hugo +1000

    War Horse +1400

    The Help +2000

    Midnight in Paris +2500

    Moneyball +3000

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close +3000

    The Tree of Life +4000

It seems like The Artist is almost a given to win Best Picture. Most of us have not seen the movie but that doesn’t seem to matter when it comes to the Academy Awards. Everyone has pretty much handed this award to The Artist so there is no value in going any other way.

    Odds to Win Best Actor

    George Clooney (The Descendants) -250

    Jean Dujardin (The Artist) +150

    Brad Pitt (Moneyball) +700

Demian Bichir (A Better Life) +2500

Gary Oldman (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) +2500

While some people think that The Artist may sweep the awards we don’t think that is going to be the case. George Clooney looks to be an easy winner for Best Actor even though Brad Pitt should get a long look for his role in Moneyball – a film that some of us have even seen.

    Odds to Win Best Actress

Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady) -200

    Viola Davis (The Help) +220

Michelle Williams (My Week with Marilyn) +300

    Glenn Close (Albert Nobbs) +2000

Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) +2000

This is the most fascinating category as Meryl Streep is heavily favored to win in Oscars betting odds but you might be surprised to learn she rarely wins. She has been nominated 17 times but has only won twice and not since 1983.

    Odds to Win Best Director

    Michel Hazanavicius (The Artist) -150

    Martin Scorsese (Hugo) +150

    Alexander Payne (The Descendants) +550

Woody Allen (Midnight in Paris) +1300

Terrance Malik (Tree of Life) +1800

This could be another upset as Martin Scorsese might just beat out Michel Hazanavicius for Best Director. Check out the BetDSI Facebook page today for entertainment betting news.
