Boxing Odds: Shane Mosley is a big favorite to defeat Ricardo Mayorga in their bout on Saturday, August 29th in Los Angeles. These two veteran fighters fought in 2009 with Mosley getting the win. There is a chance that Mayorga could actually be replaced in this fight as promoter Don King is trying to stop the fight saying that he has a current contract with Mayorga. Regardless of who Mosley fights he will be listed as a big favorite in boxing odds at Diamond sportsbook.

Let’s look at the bout and boxing odds.

    Mosley Planning to Fight Someone

Shane Mosley is going to fight someone on Saturday night and he would prefer it be Ricardo Mayorga as scheduled but promoter Don King is trying to stop the fight saying he still has a contract with Mayorga. "Yes, there will be a fight, I will be fighting somebody," Mosley said, "There's a couple of people that I could be fighting, three different people. But they're all ready to go and they're good to go."

If it is indeed Mayorga who fights Mosley then it will be a revenge fight for Mayorga who lost in 2009 to Mosley. Mayorga is 31-8-1 in his career with 25 knockouts. He has won five of his last eight fights including a win over Andrik Saralegui last December. He has won his first two fights since coming out of retirement. The problem for Mayorga is that he hasn’t beaten anyone of note since 2007. He still comes in very confident saying before their press conference, "Before this press conference I don't think he was afraid of me but now I can see it," Mayorga added. "When I looked in his face I can see that he knows he made a mistake in picking me. He's already finished."

Mosley is 47-9-1 in his career with 39 knockouts. Mosley has lost three of his last four fights including a loss to Anthony Mundine in 2013. Mosley will be ending a two-year retirement when he fights on Saturday night in Los Angeles.

    Fight Notes

These two fought in 2009 and it was an excellent fight that was very close until Mosley got the knockout. It is hard to know what to expect from these two aging fighters in their rematch. Mosley is the better boxer and he is fighting in his home state of California where he has never lost so it would be a major surprise if he lost to Mayorga.
