Robert Stieglitz vs Arthur Abraham Boxing Betting Odds

Robert Stieglitz will defend his super middleweight title on Saturday in Germany against Arthur Abraham. Even though he is the champ, Stieglitz is almost a 3-1 underdog. Let’s look at the odds and preview this bout.
Arthur Abraham -285 vs. Robert Stieglitz
This fight takes place from the O2 World Arena in Berlin, Germany on Saturday. Since it is taking place in Germany the fight will have an earlier start Eastern Time on Saturday. Abraham comes into the bout with a record of 34-3 with 27 knockouts while Stieglitz is 42-2 with 23 knockouts.
Abraham could be overvalued in boxing betting odds considering he really hasn’t beaten anyone of note lately. Wins over Pablo Oscar Natalio Farias and Piotr Wilczewski don’t impress anyone. He needs a big effort on Saturday. “It is all or nothing for me on Saturday,” said Abraham. “Therefore it is even more exciting to be back at the o2 World. I am fighting in my home town. Together we will make sure, that the title comes to Berlin.”
Stieglitz won the title in 2009 as he beat Karoly Balzsay. Since that time he has defended the title six times but he hasn’t beaten anyone. This will be a major step up in competition for Stieglitz against Abraham. He didn’t really sound that confident when talking about the fight. “I think I will beat Arthur through my power, my technique and my constant pressure on him.” Stieglitz said, “I have to make sure not to get hit by his hard punches. I just have to do my job as good as possible.”
The promoters of Abraham and Stieglitz are trying to talk this fight up but it is really a matchup of two below average fighters. Even though Abraham should win he is definitely overvalued in boxing betting odds for this fight. If Abraham wins then it will likely be by a knockout. If props come out on Abraham I’ll take him to win by knockout. If Abraham doesn’t get the knockout then this fight has the feel of a boring grab fest so when the rounds option comes out I’ll play it over the total at the online sportsbook.
