Monday, June 6th, 2016By Tom Wilkinson
Boxing Odds: Ruslan Provodnikov takes on John Molina Jr. at Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York on Saturday, June 11th. This fight that can be seen on Showtime has Provodnikov listed as a big favorite. Molina Jr. comes into this fight with a record of 28-6 with 23 knockouts while Provodnikov is 25-4 in his career with 18 knockouts. Provodnikov has split his last six fights while Molina Jr. has split his last ten bouts.
Here is a look at the bout and boxing picks.
Provodnikov has 18 knockouts in his career while Molina Jr. has 23 knockouts. Provodnikov wasn’t going to go out on a limb and predict a knockout saying, “I don’t know if it will go to the scorecards. Anything can happen. He is also a great fighter, so maybe it will go to the scorecards.” Provodnikov is trying not to look too far ahead to other potential matchups. “I’m not thinking about that too much right now. Luckily my weight classes, both 140 and 147, there’s no problem with the opposition. There (are) a lot of guys, a lot of stars.” Provodnikov said. “I’ve always said that I’m willing to fight anyone at 140 and 147, just let me know when and I’ll be there. I’m ready to fight any of the top guys.”
Molina said that he expects a fight that will be exciting. “Stylistically I think there are thing that I have to my advantage. Stature-wise: my height, my reach. But with that being said, when the fight starts, all of that is going to go out the window and we’re going to fight.”
The price on Provodnikov is really high considering he has three losses in his last six fights but he has never been knocked out in his career and it seems unlikely Molina Jr. is going to knock him out. Molina Jr. has dropped three of his last four fights but he has stamina so if this fight goes the distance he has a chance. The price on Provodnikov is definitely too high for me so I will instead take the rounds option under or take Provodnikov to win by knockout if that prop is on the board.
