Cintron vs Alvarez Boxing Betting Picks

    Cintron vs Alvarez

Unbeaten Saul Alvarez is heavily favored in boxing betting odds at BetDSI sportsbook for Saturday’s fight against Kermit Cintron. Alvarez is 38-0-1 in his career with 28 knockouts and he could be in line for a big payday in the future against Julio Caesar Chavez. But he does need to get past Cintron first.

    Alvarez -750 vs. Cintron

Anything less than an Alvarez victory on Saturday night in Mexico City would be a shock in boxing betting. It will be the third title defense for Alvarez and it may not be any more difficult than his last two wins over Ryan Rhodes and Alfonso Gomez.

Cintron at Least has a Puncher’s Chance

You hear all the time about a fighter having a puncher’s chance of winning but at least in the case of Cintron it is true. He has a record of 33-4-1 with 28 knockouts. The problem for Cintron is that recently he seems to have packed it in. He has lost two of his past three fights and has only one knockout since 2007. Whether or not Cintron can regain some of his past power is questionable and even in his pre-fight comments, Cintron has not sounded that confident. “He’s world champion for a reason,” Cintron said, “I think he’s a good fighter. He’s strong and has a lot of skills. But I feel that I’m a better fighter than he is. I’m strong as well, I can punch. It’s going to be an interesting fight. I came here well prepared for whatever he brings.”

    Prediction

It is really hard to make much of a case for Cintron winning this fight against the boxing betting odds. He may indeed have more power and enough of a punch to hurt Alvarez but we haven’t seen it in two years. Alvarez has the edge in age and in speed and unless he makes a mistake he is going to win. Alvarez really hasn’t been tested much in his boxing career and it is debatable whether or not Cintron is much of a test. Cintron at least has shown talent in the past but it seems unlikely he will recapture that magic on Saturday night.
