There is no doubt that the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world today is Manny Pacquaio. He is also the most popular fighter in the world and heavily favored in boxing betting at BetDSI sportsbook. Who are the other top fighters in the world and when are their next bouts.
Manny Pacquaio
There really isn’t anyone out there who can tough Pacquiao in either the welterweight or lightweight division. And forget about Floyd Mayweather Jr. as he hasn’t beaten anyone in years. Pacquaio’s next bout is expected to be on November 12th against Juan Manuel Marquez. He is a -750 favorite in that bout. Mayweather is set to fight Victor Ortiz on September 17th and he is a -650 favorite in boxing betting odds at BetDSI.
Wladimir Klitschko
The top boxer in the heavyweight division is Wladimir Klitschko. He is 56-3 in his career and the only other fighter capable of challenging him is his brother Vitali and they are not going to fight. The Klitschko brothers are head and shoulders above anyone else in the heavyweight division. We don’t know the next bout for Wladimir but Vitali is a -480 favorite in boxing betting as he takes on Tomasz Adamek on September 10th.
Sergio Martinez
The top fighter in the middleweight division is Sergio Martinez. No one wants to fight him so he is stuck taking on Darren Barker of England in his next bout scheduled for October 1st. Martinez will be a heavy favorite in that bout against the relatively unknown Barker.
Juan Manuel Marquez
He is a huge underdog in boxing betting at BetDSI sportsbook in November’s bout against Pacquiao. Marquez is still the top fighter in the lightweight division though but he is not a serious threat to Pacquiao.
Bernard Hopkins
The 46-year old is the champion of the light heavyweight division and he is not stopping after becoming the oldest fighter in history to win a world title. He will take on former title holder Chad Dawson on October 15th. Jean Pascal is right behind Hopkins and right with Dawson in the very competitive light heavyweight division.
