Berto -470 vs. Zaveck
These two fighters have sparkling records but the boxing betting odds are saying that Zaveck doesn’t have much of chance. Berto comes into this bout at 27-1 with 20 knockouts while Zaveck is 31-1 with 18 knockouts. Berto dominated the welterweight division for a couple of years after winning the title from Miguel Angel Rodriguez. He had pretty much taken over as the top welterweight fighter since Floyd Mayweather was nowhere to be found. Berto defended his title and beat Steve Forbes, Luis Collazo, Juan Urango, Carlos Quintana, and Freddy Hernandez but last time out he lost to Victor Ortiz.
Berto has said he wants to get back on top and that he is not overlooking Zaveck. “Like I’ve already said before, Jan Zaveck is a good fighter. He’s a world champion for a reason.” Berto said, “From what I have seen he has a good right hand and he likes to bang but he will also try to box a little bit. Whatever he brings to the table, I will make sure that I’m ready for it Saturday night.”
Zaveck will be fighting in the U.S for the first time on Saturday night. He has done most of his fighting in Germany. Zaveck has a sparkling overall record but his level of competition has been pretty weak. His last win was against Paul Delgado. Zaveck will be defending his title for the fourth time.
If Berto is focused for this fight he should be able to win although Zaveck is tough enough to at least put up a fight. He is not nearly in the class of some of the other opponents Berto has beaten though and anything less than a Berto victory would be a major surprise in Battle in Biloxi boxing betting.
