Boxing Betting Odds: Familiar foes meet for the fourth time when Arthur Abraham takes on Robert Stieglitz at Gerry Weber Stadium in Halle, Germany on Saturday, July 18th. Abraham comes into this bout as the WBO super middleweight champion with a record of 42-4 while Stieglitz is a former champion who has a record of 47-4-1. This fight is being billed as the “Final Showdown” between the two fighters but as we have seen in the past with boxing you never want to say never.
Here is a look at the bout and boxing predictions.
Boxing Betting Odds
Arthur Abraham -155
Robert Stieglitz +130
This will be the fourth meeting between these two fighters but considering the weakness of the division it might not be the last one. Abraham is 42-4 in his career with 28 knockouts while Stieglitz is 47-4-1 with 27 knockouts. Abraham beat Stieglitz in two of their first three fights but each fight was close. Their third fight went to a split decision and if Stieglitz had not tired late in the fight he would have won. Abraham is now 35 years old but he says he wants to fight for two more years before retiring. His trainer Ulli Wegner said that retirement may come sooner if Abraham loses this fight. In fact, Wegner has said if Abraham loses he will no longer train him and recommend retirement. German fight fans love to watch their two heroes in action so this will be another popular fight in Germany. “I have already beaten him twice, and in our second fight I was beaten by injury,” Abraham said. “I can guarantee that the fourth fight will be our last. Robert throws a lot of punches, but he has no killer punch. Although I cannot promise a KO, I will leave the audience in no doubt over who the better boxer is.”
Abraham has said that this will be the final time he faces Stieglitz but whether that will be the case remains to be seen. He said he has plenty of motivation to win on Saturday. ‘’The fact that this fight is for the world title gives me all the motivation I need,’’ said Abraham. ‘’Every time I enter the ring, I give up my title, and only become champion again when the final bell sounds and my hand is raised. I must approach every fight with the same desire and will to win, and if I were to think any differently it would be time for me to hang up my gloves.”
I will lay the small price and take Abraham and also play the rounds over the total.
