The top two teams in the Western Conference meet on Thursday night in Los Angeles as the Sparks host the Minnesota Lynx. Let’s take a look at this game which can be seen on NBA-TV and the rest of Thursday’s action.
Minnesota at Los Angeles (NBA-TV)
The Lynx have clinched the top spot in the West while Los Angeles is likely to finish in second place so this matchup is more about sending a message than anything else. The Lynx have won six of the last seven in this series but Los Angeles did win at home back in July by a score of 96-90. Minnesota won the other two meetings this season at home by scores of 92-84 and 88-77. Even though Minnesota has owned this series of late, the Sparks still lead the all-time series 35-15 and they are 18-3 at home against Minnesota. The Lynx are the better team, they will be playing with an extra day of rest and they may be getting points in this game in basketball betting. I will take Minnesota in this one.
Atlanta at Chicago
The Dream have already clinched a playoff spot while Chicago has been eliminated so this game doesn’t mean a whole lot. Atlanta is pretty much set as the third seed in the Eastern Conference so it is all about preparing for the playoffs. Atlanta has been very good on defense this season and is 11-0 when allowing 70 points or less. Atlanta is just 7-8 ATS on the road this season but Chicago is a pathetic 5-10 against the basketball betting odds at home. I’ll make a small play at the sportsbook on the Dream in this game.
New York at Tulsa
The Liberty are probably going to get into the playoffs as the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference assuming they don’t screw things up against Tulsa in the last two games of the season. This is the first half of a home and home on Thursday night. Tulsa has shown some heart recently with wins over Phoenix and San Antonio so this is not an automatic win for New York. I still have to take the Liberty though as they may need to win this game to assure a playoff spot.
