The Los Angeles Lakers are on national TV for the second straight night on Friday as they visit the New York Knicks. The game can be seen on ESPN and the Lakers should be small road favorites in NBA betting at Diamond Sportsbook.

Friday’s game will be the second of two meetings this season between the Knicks and Lakers. The Knicks were beaten in Los Angeles back in December by a score of 99-82.

    Lakers Domination of New York

Los Angeles has beaten New York nine straight times with the last New York win coming in 2007. The Lakers are also 6-4 ATS in the last ten games against the Knicks. Even in New York, the Lakers have pretty much owned the Knicks recently, winning 8 of the last 10 and covering the NBA betting odds in 7 of those 10. Last season the Lakers routed the Knicks 113-96 at the Garden.

Both the Lakers and the Knicks have struggled this season although Los Angeles still has a winning record. The Knicks are such a mess that it is hard to figure out what they are going to do on a nightly basis.

    Live Betting

This matchup on Friday night will include live betting at our sportsbook. It is one of many games this week that includes the option to bet on a game while it is in progress. Check out the full schedule of games available for live betting by reading the BetDSI Blog.

    NBA Predictions

It is really tough to choose a side as the Lakers have been rotten on the road this season both straight up and against the spread. The Knicks have struggled virtually everywhere as they have a losing pointspread mark both at home and on the road. We’ll look at the total instead for our pick and go with the under. The Knicks have not been the high flying team they were a year ago and the Lakers are a very good defensive team, ranking fourth in the league in fewest points allowed. We’ll look for Friday’s game to stay under the total.
