Revenge Angle
It is hard not to like Duke in this game simply because they will be playing with revenge. Duke simply doesn’t lose very often to a team twice in the same season and they may have added motivation on Thursday because of that buzzer beating loss to the Seminoles last month.
Blue Devils Better on the Road
Duke has been a better team vs. the number this season on the road than at home. Duke simply doesn’t play enough defense to cover big college basketball pointspreads but on the road the number is smaller and Duke has been worth a play. The Blue Devils are one of the top scoring teams in the country as they are averaging almost 80 points per game.
FSU Solid at Home
The Seminoles have been very good this season against the spread at home winning 8 of their first 12 games against the number. FSU is almost the opposite of Duke as they win with defense. The Seminoles should be in the NCAA Tournament so this shouldn’t be a critical game that they have to win.
Game Notes
Duke has won six of the last ten in this series but they are just 3-7 ATS. The Blue Devils have also won six of the last ten at Florida State although they did lose at FSU last season. There is a huge trend on the total in this game as the last eight games between the two teams at Florida State have gone under.
College Basketball Predictions
The trends point to Florida State but we are going against the numbers and going with the revenge angle and taking Duke minus the small number. The trends scream to take the under but we can’t do it based on Duke’s rotten defensive numbers this season.
