    College Basketball Betting - VCU

It is BracketBuster weekend with a number of games this weekend including Friday night’s game between Northern Iowa and VCU on ESPN 2. Make all of your BracketBuster picks for college hoops at BetDSI Sportsbook.

    Northern Iowa on the Road

The Panthers are not going to make the NCAA Tournament this season unless they pull off a huge surprise and win the Missouri Valley Conference tournament. Northern Iowa has not been very good on the road this season and they are below .500 against the spread. The Panthers are decent on defense as they allow just about 62 points per game but they simply can’t score. They are ranked 214th in the country in total points per game.

Virginia Commonwealth 22-6 SU, 14-12-1 ATS

The Rams are having another good season and they are one of the teams being mentioned as on the bubble of making the NCAA Tournament. It is possible the Rams could make the big dance even if they don’t win the Colonial Athletic Association tournament. It took a while for VCU to come together this season but they are rolling now even though they did lose a heart breaker last time out at George Mason. The CAA has three teams in the mix to get an NCAA Tourney bid as VCU, Drexel and George Mason are all having solid seasons. In all likelihood though, the CAA will probably only get one bid so VCU needs to get ready for the conference tournament. VCU relies on defense to win games as they are 14th best in the country in fewest points allowed.

    Players to Watch

Northern Iowa is led by Seth Tuttle who is averaging 14 points in the last eight games. He is a freshman that has come on in the second half of the season. VCU is led by Bradford Burgess who has 37 points in his last two games.

    BracketBuster Picks

The Rams are the better team playing at home against a team that is going nowhere. We’ll lay the points with VCU and also look for a low scoring game on Friday night and take the under.
