CC Sabathia is expected to get the ball on Thursday night as the New York Yankees host the Toronto Blue Jays in a game that can be seen on the MLB Network. Let’s look at the pitching matchup for this contest and make our pick.
Laffey vs. Sabathia
There is not much doubt who gamblers are going to back in this game on Thursday night. Aaron Laffey is just an arm the Blue Jays are throwing out there hoping to get some innings out of. He is 3-5 on the season wit ha 4.55 ERA. He went just 3 2/3 innings last time out against Boston and overall he has lost his last four decisions. In his career against the Yankees, Laffey is 0-2 with a 9.56 ERA.
CC Sabathia is 13-6 on the season with a 3.63 ERA. He hasn’t looked like the ace of the staff in recent games and there are definite questions about him as the Yankees get ready for the playoffs. He has allowed nine earned runs in 13 innings in his last two starts. The big positive for CC is that he owns the Blue Jays with a 13-4 career record and a 2.98 ERA against them.
Yankees Continue to Own the Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium
New York can thank the Blue Jays if they end up winning the American League East. New York has dominated the Blue Jays in New York and it should not be any different on Thursday. Before this series began, the Yankees had taken 8 of the last 10 at home against Toronto. New York is likely going to be more than a 2-1 favorite in this game at the online sportsbook on Thursday night with CC on the mound but it is hard to make any case for taking Toronto even at the big price.
Thursday Night Parlay
Most of the attention on Thursday night is going to be on the NFL game between the Giants and Panthers but if you want some action on the baseball then check out the Blue Jays and Yankees.
