St. Louis Cardinals
The Cardinals don’t have long time manager Tony LaRussa who retired and they don’t have Albert Pujols. All is not lost though as the Cardinals do get Adam Wainwright back from injury and they signed Carlos Beltran to help pick up the slack for the departure of Pujols.
Cincinnati Reds
The Reds are going for it in 2012 as they added starting pitcher Mat Latos, closer Ryan Madson and slugger Ryan Ludwick. The key for the Reds could be how well Aroldis Chapman does as a starter.
Milwaukee Brewers
The Brewers have to replace Prince Fielder who is now in Detroit and they could be without Ryan Braun for the first 50 games as he is likely to be suspended. The team did add Aramis Ramirez but there is no question they are not going to be as good on offense as they were last season. The Brewers are hoping that pitcher Zach Grienke finally starts earning his big money.
Pittsburgh Pirates
The Pirates were better than expected vs. the MLB odds at the offshore sportsbook last season and they could continue to improve in 2012. It would help if they could get some of their reclamation projects to work out. The Pirates brought in Eric Bedard, Casey McGehee, Nate McLouth and Clint Barmes.
Chicago Cubs
The Cubs are in rebuilding mode under president of baseball operations Theo Epstein. This will not be the season that the Cubs contend for a title but with Epstein there is now hope the Cubs will contend soon. Chicago will be a team to bet against on most days in 2012.
Houston Astros
The Astros lost 106 games last year and there is no real reason to be optimistic things will change in 2012. For more baseball betting news and information be sure and check out BetDSI on Twitter.
