Chicago Cubs Betting - Can Epstein and Sveum Turn the Cubs Around

    Chicago Cubs Betting

The lovable losers, the Chicago Cubs have made a number off changes in the off-season as they hope to build a team that can challenge for a World Series title. Chicago Cubs betting in recent seasons has not been very profitable. Will that change with Theo Epstein and Dale Sveum in charge?

    Dale Sveum the New Manager

The Cubs named Dale Sveum as their new manager. He will be taking over for Mike Quade who was 71-91 in his tenure with the club. Sveum was the Milwaukee Brewers hitting coach and has no real managerial experience. That didn’t seem to matter though to Theo Epstein who is the Chicago president of baseball operations. Maybe Epstein got nervous when reports had Sveum as the leading candidate to take over as the Boston Red Sox manager. Sveum did manage 12 games for the Brewers in 2008 and four games in the playoffs but that team was not his and it is not yet known if Sveum can handle a full time managing job. Milwaukee had a couple of chances to hire Sveum as their manager and GM Doug Melvin chose someone else each time.

    Rebuilding Cubs

If you think that Chicago Cubs betting at the online sportsbook is going to immediately be more successful than it has been in recent years you may want to think again. Theo Epstein is going to build the Cubs organization from the ground up and it won’t be done in one year. The Cubs do not have enough talent at either the minor league or the major league level to be a consistent winner and that will be the goal of Epstein. Many reports indicate that the Cubs are shopping virtually everyone on the roster in an attempt to get players into their farm system. Chicago really likes their closer Carlos Marmol and setup man Sean Marshall but so do other teams and it would not be a surprise to see Chicago trade both players. One of the only players not on the trade market for the Cubs is shortstop Starlin Castro who is one of the players the Cubs hope they can build around.
