There should be some runs scored on Sunday in New York as the Atlanta Braves face the New York Mets. It is a matchup of two struggling pitchers with Tommy Hanson set to go for Atlanta against New York’s Curt Young. Let’s look at the game and make our prediction.
Pitching Matchup
Tommy Hanson has a record of 12-8 this season with a 4.40 ERA for the Braves. He has not pitched well since the All-Star break and there are no rumors he could lose his spot in the starting rotation. In his last three starts he is 0-3 with a 5.52 ERA. He is just 3-5 in his career against the Mets with a 4.31 ERA.
Curt Young has been poor for the Mets this season with a 4-7 record and a 4.48 ERA. He finally got a win last time out against the Marlins but that isn’t saying much. He is still just 1-1 in his last three starts with a 4.41 ERA. He allowed five runs back in July to the Braves in just over three innings of work. He is 2-3 in his career against the Braves with an ERA of 8.33.

Game Notes
The Braves had taken seven of the last ten in this series before it began with the last two games going over the total in baseball wagering. Atlanta has had a lot of recent success in New York as they had won the last five meetings before this series started. Four of the last five had gone over the total. With these two pitchers on the mound we could see a lot of runs on Sunday afternoon.
Baseball Parlay
I will go with a parlay on Sunday and take the Braves and the game over the total. Hanson is a better pitcher than Young and Atlanta has owned this series of late. It should also be a high scoring game so I will look to hit the parlay in baseball wagering with the Braves and over.
