Baseball Odds - New Deal Will Add Playoff Teams Change Schedules

    MLB Baseball Betting

Major League Baseball and the Players Association have reached a new CBA that will have baseball looking a little different in future years. There will be two more playoff teams, probably starting next season in baseball odds at the online sportsbook and in two years there will likely be a change in schedules.

    Playoff Teams Added

There are likely going to be two more teams that make the playoffs starting as early as next season. It appears that there will now be two Wild Card teams in each league instead of just one. Those two Wild Card teams will meet in a one-game playoff with the winner then facing the top seed in the next round. If the playoff changes would have happened this past season it would have been the Tigers and Rangers meeting in the divisional series instead of the ALCS while the Cardinals and Braves would have met in a one-game playoff as they both would have been Wild Card teams.

    Astros Moving to American League

Part of the new deal will have the Houston Astros moving to the American League in 2013. The Astros will move from the National League Central to the American League West.

    Interleague Play

There is going to be a lot more interleague play starting in 2013 in baseball betting. There will be 15 teams in each league and that will result in some different schedules because of the betting odds number of teams in each league. There will be at least one Interleague game everyday when every team is in action. "I don't think any schedule is perfect," commissioner Bud Selig said, “This will be very good." The advantage of having 15 teams in each league is that there will now finally be some fairness when it comes to the schedules. Each of the three divisions in each league will have five teams. All of the teams will play the exact same division schedule. There will still be some arguments on Interleague schedules but there is no question that overall the schedule will be fairer.
