What will happen this season in the National League West? Last year it was the Arizona Diamondbacks shocking everyone in baseball odds to win 94 games a year after losing 97 games. The Diamondbacks look better than they did a year ago but they will still have to fight off San Francisco in 2012.

    Arizona Diamondbacks

What a story the Diamondbacks were last season, as they not only won the National League West, they ran away with the division, winning by eight games over the Giants. The Diamondbacks made a nice offseason move as they picked up Jason Kubel who was with Minnesota last season. They also added Trevor Cahill who was supposed to be a star in Oakland. He should go right into the rotation and give the Diamondbacks a potent quartet with Ian Kennedy, Daniel Hudson, Joe Saunders and Cahill.

    San Francisco Giants

The Giants lack of offense finally caught up to them last season. The Giants won the World Series in 2010 with a rotten offense but last season they couldn’t do it again. One thing that will help is getting Buster Posey back from injury. The Giants still have Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain but they may miss Jonathan Sanchez who they let get away to Kansas City.

    Colorado Rockies

The Rockies started strong last season but floundered after the first month. The team made a nice move getting Michael Cuddyer who will play right field. They also got Jeremy Guthrie from the Orioles. If those two moves pay off then it is not a stretch to see the Rockies making a major turnaround in 2012 baseball odds.

    Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers have Matt Kemp and Clayton Kershaw but they lost Hiroki Kuroda in the offseason and they did very little to upgrade a team that was basically a .500 team last year.

    San Diego Padres

The Padres are in trouble as their GM Josh Byrnes simply doesn’t seem to understand baseball. Byrnes traded away Mat Latos who is one of the top young pitchers in the league and he got a prospect and a .500 pitcher in return. The Padres lost 91 games last season and there is no reason to believe they won’t lose at least that many in 2012. Don’t forget to like BetDSI on Facebook today.
