2012 MLB Betting - Season Preview

  In just over a month’s time the 2012 Major League Baseball season begins with regular season action in Tokyo as the Seattle Mariners play the Oakland A’s on March 28th. Let’s start to get ready for 2012 MLB betting with looking at some major story lines.

  The 2012 MLB season begins on March 28th with the Mariners and A’s playing a two-game series in Japan but since both teams have to travel, the regular season in the U.S. begins on April 4th. The Miami Marlins open up their new ballpark on that day as they host the defending World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals. And before the regular season begins there will be almost a month of exhibition baseball betting beginning with games on March 2nd.

  Favorites

  The favorites in 2012 MLB betting to win the World Series are the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Yankees. The Phillies have the best starting rotation in all of baseball with Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee and Cole Hamels while the Yankees have a lineup loaded with power and they added young star Michael Pineda to bolster a rotation that already includes CC Sabathia.

  Also in the Mix

  A few other teams should also be considered as you look at baseball futures at BetDSI sportsbook for 2012. The Boston Red Sox are still going to be very good as they have a potent lineup and star pitchers Jon Lester and Josh Beckett but the Red Sox are a notch below the Yankees. The Detroit Tigers made a huge splash getting Prince Fielder and they still have Justin Verlander but there are still holes in this team and Jim Leyland never wins big games. The Los Angeles Angels are a team that should get a lot of action this season as their starting rotation is stacked and now they have Albert Pujols. Not to be forgotten in the American League are the Texas Rangers who will again challenge for the AL title and the Tampa Bay Rays who have one of the best young rotations in the league.
